Acting Corporal Mary Allan of 1 Port Street, Balintore, who is serving the Women’s Auxiliary Air force, has passed a balloon operating course for N.C.O.’s. Mary will shortly be posted to a barrage balloon site, where she will be one of the two N.C.O.’s in charge of the site.

Acting Corporal Allan’s was chosen to go on the course for the ability she has shown in the past months as an operator on a barrage balloon site. The course that Mary has just completed, included instruction in advanced balloon operating, welfare and discipline of airwomen on a balloon site, first aid, anti-gas, drill and physical training.
