At Tain Sheriff Court, Alexander Vass, fisherman, John Vass, cattleman, Finlay Vass, labourer, and Andrew Vass, fisherman, all of Shandwick, were accused of attacking and assaulting Hugh Vass, Andrew Ross, Andrew Ross and Mrs. Isabella Ross. After the evidence had been heard, Alexander Vass, guilty, fined 25 shillings, John Vass, guilty, fined 20 shillings, Finlay Vass and Andrew Vass found not guilty.
