The school at Balintore, which is supported by the Society for Propagating Christian Knowledge, the pupils were tested by a committee of clergymen on their knowledge of Latin, English reading, grammar, geography, arithmetic and bible knowledge. The school role has 102 pupils of which 72 were present, the rest were absent due to the prevalence of influenza and hooping cough in the area. The Reverend gentlemen found themselves ‘highly satisfied’ with the pupils abilities.
